DIED

At Junction City, Dec. 27, 1878, little Bertie, son of Daniel and Mary A. Test, aged 1 year 10 months and 1 day.

A sweet and beautiful child has been taken from us to join that happy band of angels in heaven. Diptheria, that dreadful disease, has robbed a family of one of its brightest jewels.

Darling Bertie how we miss you
In your little vacant chair,
How sadly pass the hours away,
Since you were taken from our care.

We'd love to see those baby fingers
Pressed against the window pane,
And the bright eyes of our darling
Looking at us once again.

But you are free from care and sorrow,
A jewel in our Saviour's crown,
You'll blossom there in fragrance sweet,
Safe from all the world's cold frown.
