Florence Waneta Lorton, 91, of Berne, IN, passed away at 2:10 AM on Friday, September 28, 2012 at Chalet Village Health Care Center in Berne, IN. She was the daughter of the late Orville B. Lea and Theedis A. (Dawson) Lea and was born on Tuesday, May 03, 1921, in Elroy, OH. She married Ray Lorton on Thursday, June 10, 1943 in Greenville, OH. Mrs. Lorton was a homemaker until she went to work for Swiss Village. There she was a nurse's aide for about 11 years before retiring in 1986. She was very involved with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved spending her time with them. Mrs. Lorton was a member of the West Missionary Church in Berne.

Recovery, OH., Daughter - Melody Streight, Columbia City, IN., Sister - Charlene Hamilton, Union City, OH., Sister - Phyllis Bruss, Union City, OH., Brother - Dawson Lea, Union City, IN., Brother - Millard Lea, Union City, IN., Brother - Willard Lea, Union City, IN. 12 Grandchildren and 24 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her: Husband - Ray M. Lorton, Daughter - Joy Jackson, Father - Orville B. Lea, Mother - Theedis A. Lea, Brother - Arthur Lea, Sister - Ruth Leedom, Sister - June Sharp, Brother - James Lea, Sister - Maxine Lea and Sister - Arlene Hittle.




Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home 100 N Washington Street Geneva on Monday, October 01, 2012 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A service to celebrate Florence's life will be at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home at 12:00 PM on Monday, October 01, 2012 with Pastor Keith Rupp officiating. Graveside services will follow at 2:00PM in the Brick Cemetery, Randolph County, IN .
