Ruth Janet Pratt was born on 14 August 1908 in Denver, Colorado, the second (and only surviving) child of Best Gordon Pratt (1875-1952) and Christina Duncan Pratt (1875-1948). Though she was born in Denver, she was raised and lived in or near Chicago, IL the rest of her life. She was married to Jack Gordon Alberson (1906-1995) on 24 October 1936 in Chicago, IL. They had two daughters; Janet and Jacqueline. She and Jack were married 59 years when he passed away in 1995. Ruth died on 26 August 2000 in Elwood, IL at the age of 92, and was buried next to her husband at Mount Hope Cemetery.
