Ada Hall Brown Wiles was born July 20, 1903, a daughter of A.S.J. and Ella Dixon Hall. She grew up at the Hall family residence on Mt. Vernon Church Road. She married William Jennings Bryan Brown, whom she called "Bryant," and she gave birth to four sons. Bryant died from complications due to a burst appendix, just short of his 42nd birthday. Ada then married Mr. Robert J. Wiles and moved her family to his home on Barnes Station Road. During her last year, she moved in with her oldest son, Edwin, and his family, in Iva. She suffered a stroke and had to be placed in a nursing home, where she passed away right before Christmas in 1985. She was my Grandmother.
