John W. Fike, 54, of rural Nora Springs, Iowa, died on Thursday evening, June 20, 1991, at Mercy Hospital in Mason City, Iowa, of an apparent heart attack.

Funeral services for John Fike were held on Monday, June 24, 1991, at the United Methodist Church in Rudd. Rev. M. Reth, officiated. Burial was at the Evergreen Cemetery near Rudd, Iowa.

John Walter Fike was born on June 19, 1937, at Charles City, the son of Clayton and Lillian (Lawless) Fike. He graduated from Rudd High School in 1956 and on December 27, of that year, he and Delores Nelson were married at Rudd. He farmed in the Rudd area and was self-employed as a feed and animal health products salesman for the past eight years.

Living family members include his wife, Delores of rural Rudd; a daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Alan Wagner of Nora Springs; four sons and daughters-in-law: Randy and Pam of Manly, Bradley and Connie of Phoenix, Arizona, Steve and Karen and Mitchell, all of Dallas, Texas; his father, Clayton of Rudd; and three sisters and brothers-in-law: Martha and Ed Fitzgerald and Margaret Powell, both of Mason City, and Sharon and Harvey Jeffries of Rudd. There are six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lillian.
