Col. Henry T. Duncan, twice Mayor of Lexington, one of the founders of the old Lexington Press, subsequently editor for years of the Press-Transcript, and for the last quarter of a century one of the most conspicuous figures in the public life of the city, died Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock at the home of his son-in-law, col. John R. Allen, 417 Fayette Park, following an illness of several weeks.

Duncan, whose long and eventful career came to a close Tuesday, the General Council met in special session Wednesday morning, and after appointing a committee to draft resolutions on the death of the deceased executive adopted a resolution that members of the General Council and other city officials attend the funeral in a body and that the City Hall be closed during the funeral exercises.
