Col. Henry T. Duncan, twice Mayor of Lexington, one of the founders of the old Lexington Press, subsequently editor for years of the Press-Transcript, and for the last quarter of a century one of the most conspicuous figures in the public life of the city, died Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock at the home of his son-in-law, col. John R. Allen, 417 Fayette Park, following an illness of several weeks.

As a tribute to Lexington's dead ex-Mayor, Hon. Henry T. Duncan, whose long and eventful career came to a close Tuesday, the General Council met in special session Wednesday morning, and after appointing a committee to draft resolutions on the death of the deceased executive adopted a resolution that members of the General Council and other city officials attend the funeral in a body and that the City Hall be closed during the funeral exercises.

Surrounded by sorrowing friends and relatives, and with the casket covered by an American flag, the body of Col. Henry T. Duncan was laid in its eternal resting place in the Lexington Cemetery Thursday afternoon.
