Company G "Reid Guard" from Rockingham County, N.C., 14th North Carolina Infantry "Last At Appomattox!", Ramseur's Brigade, Army of Northern Virginia, C.S.A.

Residence Alamance County, N.C.; a 16 year-old Farmer.
Enlisted on 5/10/1861 at Rockingham County, NC., he was mustered into Captain Thomas T. Slade’s Company, 4th North Carolina Volunteers as a Private. This company subsequently became Company G, 14th North Carolina Infantry.
Wounded 9/17/1862 Sharpsburg, MD; returned to duty 12/30/1862.
Wounded (chin) 7/2/1863 Gettysburg, PA.; returned to duty 11/30/1863.
Killed in Action in the Battle of Spotsylvania Court House, VA.

The 14th North Carolina Infantry Regiment, formerly the 4th Volunteers, completed its organization in June, 1861, at Garysburg, North Carolina. Its companies were raised in the counties of Halifax, Onslow, Anson, Cleveland, Wake, Cumberland, Northampton, Stanly, and Davidson.
