COOKEVILLE - Funeral services for Mark Edward Suggs, 51, of Cookeville, will be held Thursday, December 6, at 11 a.m. at Crest Lawn Funeral Home and Cremation Center of Cookeville. Family will receive friends today, Wednesday, December 5, from 3-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Suggs died Monday, December 3, 2007, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
He was born June 16, 1956, in Highland Park, Michigan to Lucille Pippin Suggs Flatt and the late William Edward Suggs.
Mr. Suggs was of the Church of Christ faith. He was self-employed as a general contractor and served in the Navy. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, son and friend.
In addition to his mother, his family includes his wife, Debbie A. Walker Suggs of Cookeville; a daughter, Kristin S. Christian of Baxter; a son, Taylor Suggs of Cookeville; a stepfather, Ralph Flatt of Cookeville; a brother and sister-in-law, Larry K. and Charlotte Suggs of Cookeville; a niece, April L. Dyer and husband Trevor of Cookeville; a nephew, Matthew K. Suggs and wife Angela of Cookeville; two grandsons, Trenton I. Christian and Cayden D. Mahan, both of Baxter; and a granddaughter, Katie C. Christian of Baxter.
In addition to his father, Mr. Suggs was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Nick Christian; maternal grandparents, Jasper and Sarah Edmonds Pippin; and paternal grandparents, Samuel and Cleo Taylor Suggs.
