Jodie was born February 24, 1933 in Holly Ridge, Louisiana. He lived a full and faithfull life as he lived out his priorities, devoting his life to God, his family, his church, and his friends. He served our country in Korea, was an ordained deacon, and retired from Georgia Pacific Corporation in 1995 after 40 years in the paper industry. He worked with the Enon Church Builders after retirement. He enjoyed golf, travel, camping, old hymns, and sing-a-longs.He loved to be surrounded by the family he so dearly loved and prayed for so faithfully each day.He was Jodie, Dad, Papaw, Pop and friend.
Mr. Carroll was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, and one sister, and a great-grandson.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Alma; one son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Pam Carroll of Fort Smith, Arkansas; one daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and John Ford of Ashdown, Arkansas; one brother, Glen Carroll of Farmerville, Louisiana; one sister, Josephine LaBorde of Claremore, Oklahoma; 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Visitation will be Friday September 28, 2012 from 5 to 7 pm at Madden Funeral Home in Ashdown, Arkansas.
Funeral Services will be Saturday September 29, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Central Baptist Church in Ashdown, Arkansas. Internment will be at the Ashdown Memorial Gardens in Ashdown, Arkansas.
