Daughter of George Marion and Nancy Belle Holmes Russell. She was born November 30, 1918 in Poteau, Le Flore, Oklahoma. Her first husband was Arthur A. Robinson(1911-1970), and they were married in 1934. They had 3 Children: Rotha Mae Robinson (1937-1997), MacArthur "Mickey", and Larry Gene Robinson (1942-1997). Her second husband was L.D. Hughes, and they got married in 1946. They had 4 children. Ila died January 20, 1996 in a car crash in Merced, California. She is buried in the Tipton- Pixely Cemetery with L.D. Hughes.
