MARTHA ANN FITZ GONZALES, beloved daughter, sister, aunt, great aunt, cousin and a friend to many, passed away peacefully September 24th, 2012 after a courageous battle with early onset Alzheimer's.

Born May 20, 1954 in Houston, Texas to Virginia and John Fitz, Ann spent her childhood in Pasadena and graduated Deer Park High School in 1972. She is survived by her children, Thomas Edward Dickey and Martha Elizabeth Dickey; three grandchildren; her parents, Virginia and John Fitz; her sister, Jane Swanson and her husband Tom and her brothers, John Fitz and James Fitz.

Ann was an avid reader and enjoyed working in her garden. She attended First Presbyterian Church in Pasadena and Woodlands Community Presbyterian Church, where she was very active in various women's groups. Ann graduated from Sam Houston State University with honors, with both a Bachelors and Masters degree in Education and was an educator in the Klein Independent School District.

The family would like to give special thanks to the caring staff at Allenbrook Nursing Home in Baytown, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, Wednesday, September 26, 2012 with Ann's funeral service to take place at 1:30pm, Thursday, September 27, both to be held at Niday-Fairmont Funeral Home in Pasadena. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery on Spencer Highway in Pasadena.
