Some of the local boys found Miles Kessinger at a local spot with his jug and told him what had happened: Enraged, Miles declared, "They can't do that!" He went into town, whipped 5 or 6 rebels, took down their flag and put the Union flag back up. He then announced, "I'm the fightinest, meanest S.O.B. this side of the Rockies." He thereafter became known as "Rocky".Miles Henry Kessinger came from a Community in Kentucky called Kessinger.
