On September 10, 2012 Dr. Gaston Pereira deLemos, 88, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He died quickly and quietly sitting in his chair in his home at Arbor Terrace of East Cobb in Marietta, Georgia. He lived a full life and was healthy and happy. We are thankful for our friends at Arbor Terrace that gave him such a wonderful quality of life in the last six months he lived there.

He was born in Lisbon, Portugal. He spent his childhood in Angola, received his education in Portugal and immigrated to the United States following medical school to begin his residency. He practiced psychiatric medicine in Marietta, GA for over 25 years.

Gaston was preceded in death by his four brothers and sisters from Portugal. He is survived by his family including his daughter and her husband Jeannette and Steve Horton of Marietta, GA; his daughter and her husband Marissa and Milton Seabolt of Colorado Springs, CO; his daughter and her husband Erika and Deane Johnson of Sandy Springs, GA, Hilda deLemos Clark and her husband Norman Clark of Marietta, GA; his nieces and nephews in Portugal, ten grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.

Gaston enjoyed his close relationships over the years with his many colleagues and lunch with special friends. However, nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his family and grandchildren. He especially enjoyed dinner with the family and having family and friends join him for lunch at Arbor Terrace. We will miss our patriarch and he has left a legacy of love that will pass down through the generations. We stand firm in our faith in God, our salvation in Christ, and the knowledge that we will be together again. We praise God for his peaceful departure from this earth and rejoice in knowing that he has a new body that will never grow old, and will never die again. Alleluia!

Service was held at St. Catherine's Episcopal Church, 571 Holt Rd., Marietta, Georgia. Graveside service followed at Kennesaw Memorial Park located at 1306 Whitlock Avenue, Marietta. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his name may be made to Worldwildlife.org or to St. Catherine's Episcopal Church, 571 Holt Rd., Marietta, GA 30068.
