Ray I. Breedlove, 73, of Lebanon, died Tuesday, September 25 at Witham Hospital.

Ray was born July 22, 1939 in Lebanon, the son of Ernest and Elizabeth (Vanausdall) Breedlove. He attended Lebanon High School and worked for the Lebanon Utilities for ten years and then later for the Boone County REMC, as a lineman, for 30 years, retiring in 2001.

Ray's family was the center of his life. He enjoyed camping and traveling with them, and their school activities. Ray was an avid I.U. basketball fan. His memberships included the Lebanon Eagles and Elks.

Ray is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sandra (Linton) Breedlove. Other survivors include his children Beth (Marc) Juillerat of Lebanon and Steven (Cheryl) Breedlove; grandchildren Ian and Madison Juillerat and step-grandchildren Jamal, Cheryl, Shanika, Umar, and Fanasia; siblings Diana (John) Hendricks, Esther (Carter) Copeland, Kathy (Steve) Neese, Tish (Steve) Luper, Suzanne Scudder, Melinda (Dick) Buris, Leon (Shirley) Breedlove, and Robert Breedlove and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents Frank and Emma Breedlove and Aris and Grace Eva Vanausdall.

Special thanks goes to the Tuesday and Thursday lunch buddies. Ray treasured their friendship. Family and friends will gather on Saturday, September 29 from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at 6:00 p.m. with the Rev. Jim Coyle officiating in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon. Ray will be laid to rest in the Old Union Cemetery in Jamestown.
