Bro. D. C. Carrington was born April 16, 1818, died at his home in Marquez, Texas, June 1, 1891. Bro. C. served in the late war as captain, at the close of which, he laid down his carnal weapons; taking to himself the whole armor of God, serving faithfully to the end. And while rich in this world's goods, he was rich in faith. His loss is realized by all who knew him. He was a brother of the great evangelist, W. H. D. Carrington, of Austin, Texas, who died in 1887. The remains were interred the following day in the Rogers cemetery near Leona, Texas, where it now awaits the great resurrection. We weep not as those who have no hope, for we shall meet again. J. D. Markett., Marquez, Texas. - Gospel Advocate, August 5, 1891, page 491.
