Died: Thirza Kenison was born in Kennebec County, Maine, April 15,1803, and died at the home of her son, Dr. J.K. Osborne, in Medicine Lodge, Kansas, February 18,1898, aged 94 years, 10 months and 3 days. She emigrated with her parents to Ohio in 1846 and located in Morgan County. She was married in 1818 to Ezra Osborne. They lived together on the home farm till her husbands death in 1871. Eight children were born to them, six of whom, three sons and three of her five daughters still survive her. Two of her sons, C.W., and Dr. J.K. Osborne, are residents of this county.Grandma Osborne, mother of Dr. J.K Osborne and C.W. Osborne, died in this city on Feb 18, 1898 at the advanced age of 94 years, 10 months and 3 days. Old age and general feebleness were the ailments. Grandma Osborne is survived by six children---three sons and three daughters. Of these two sons reside in this county--Dr. J.K. Osborne and C. W. Osborne One daughter resides in Oklahoma, one in Florida and the other at Independence, Kansas. Grandma had been making her home with Dr. Osborne for the past 26 years, she having been a widowed lady for that period of time. She was a devout christian lady, kind, gentle, and pleasant at all times. She resided with her son in Eagle township, Barber county, for a number of years until last fall when they removed to Medicine Lodge. She was loved and esteemed by all with whom she was acquainted, and while her years were more than most of mortals, her departure is attended with sorrow. But if we all could, at the end of our earthly toil, claim as successful a career and as worthy a life which she has completed we would have not cause to complain. The funeral services were held from Dr. Osborne's residence on Sunday afternoon, Rev. Parker of the Methodist church officiating, where a large concourse of mourning friends took a last view and paid their last honor to the departed one. The remains were laid to rest in Highland cemetery at 4:00 to await the resurrection morn. Barber County Index, Feb. 23, 1898
