1. 1820-1860 Pulaski Co., KY Census (William D. Black was Sheriff in the 1860 census.)William D. Black is the son of Moses Black & Katherine Dye.

2. MARRIAGES & CHILDREN:
Wife #1 -- Syntha Cloyd, 26 APR 1840; 1 child-John Henry Black (#19858330).
Wife #2 -- Naomi Surber, 1 JAN 1844 Pulaski Co., KY; 9 children-Sarah(#29230240), Jane(#54629130), Joseph(#29230112), Caldwell, Orpha, Patrick H.(#85870637), Katherine, William G., & Laura Naomi(#59718308).

Child #8--William Green Black married Sarah I. Stephens in 1892. 3 children-John Joseph, William Franklin, & A. Maynard. 1875-1930 Wilson Co., KS census. In 1940, Sarah is head of household & a widow.

4. 11 JUN 2012--According to Jan Black Lopez, descendant of William Dye Black & 2nd wife, Naomi Surber: "William Dye Black is buried in Linn Co. at Walnut Grove Cemetery. His stone would be gone by now since he died in 1869 and I don't think the cemetery was cared for very well for years."
