Mr. Simon Slagle, a retired farmer and grocer, died Tuesday evening at six o'clock at his residence on Carlisle street, Hanover. Mr. Slagle was one of Hanover's oldest and most highly respected citizens and his demise will he much regretted. For more than a year Mr. Slagle's health had been rapidly declining. On Monday night he suffered a paralytic stroke from which he never recovered. His ago was 81 years, 7 month and 20 days. Mr. Slagle was born and raised in Oxford township, Adams county, farmed there until about 28 years ago when he moved to Hanover.
