"Marcia Newman Terry, 75, of Terre Haute, and formerly of Indianapolis, died at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012, in her residence. She was a retired school psychologist. She was born Nov. 19, 1936, in Indianapolis, to the late Albert J. Newman and Grace Miller Newman.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Thomas H. Terry, whom she married June 1, 1963 in Rockville. Other survivors include, one son, Chad Thomas Terry and his wife Heather Terry of Terre Haute; one granddaughter, Jolee Terry.
She was a 1955 graduate of Mecca High School and Indiana State University, Butler University and Indiana University receiving her master's degree. She was a member of Terre Haute First Baptist Church.
Services will be 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012, in First Baptist Church, 4701 E. Poplar St., in Terre Haute, with Pastor Bernard Jackson officiating. Burial will be 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012, in Memory Garden Cemetery in Rockville. Visitation is from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. prior to the service on Wednesday in the church.
