Widow of Christopher Williams (1795-1873).
Born in West Flamborough Township, Ontario,
Canada.
Daughter of William Van Every (1764-1832)
and Elizabeth Stevens (1764-1851) widow of
Lt. Frederick Dockstader. (Her maiden name
has also been reported as Young.)
Both of Rebecca's parents are buried in
Warner Cemetery in present-day Niagara
Falls, Ontario.
Her father joined Butler's Rangers and
served under Capt. John McDonnell during
the Revolutionary War.

Rebecca Van Every's siblings were Mary,
Elizabeth, Phoebe, John, Peter, William,
Samuel and Joseph.

The names of the children of Christopher and
Rebecca is based on two items: the 1850 census
of Oswego in Kendall County, IL as well as a
a copy of the Letters of Administration for
son William V. petitioned by his father,
Christopher, in June 1867:
James (b. 1823), Eliza (b. 1825), Joseph
(b. 1828), Jane (b. 1831), Mary J. (b. 1835),
William V. (1837-May 3, 1867), George S.
(July 4, 1842-July 6, 1907) and Ann (b. 1845)
all born in Ontario, Canada.

"Petition of Christopher Williams in the matter
of the Estate of William V. Williams deceased,
for Letters of Administration to the Hon. H.S.
Hudson, Judge of the County Court of Kendall
County.
The Petition of the undersigned respectfully
represents that William V. Williams, late of
Kendall County deceased, died at Chicago in
the state of Illinois on or about the 3rd day
of May A.D. 1867 leaving property and effects
in this county and leaving no last will and
Testament as far as known to and believed by
this petitioner.
Leaving an undivided 1/2 of a farm in said
county consisting of about 105 acres and an
undivided interest in a house and lot in
Chicago and Personal Property in this county
to the value of $100.00.
The said deceased left him surviving no person
as his widow, and your petitioner, his father.
Rebecca Williams, his mother, three brothers
and four sisters to wit - James, Eliza, Joseph,
Jane, Mary, George & Anna, all adults.
Your petitioner being the father of said
deceased therefore prays that Letters of
Administration on the estate of the said
deceased may be granted to him."
Dated - Yorkville, June 12, 1867 and signed
by Christopher Williams.
