Daughter of Jan (John) Palivec and Anna Trcka.

Miloslava (Mildred) Palivec was born Jun 25, 1911 in Drahlín, Austria-Hungary (Bohemia), now Czech Republic. On Mar 20, 1913, she departed Bremen, Germany for the USA on the ship Chemnitz, a part of the North German Lloyd Line. She travelled in 2nd Cabin accomodations. Milly arrived in Philadelphia with her parents and 7 siblings on April 4, 1913 at the age of 21 months.

Listed in 1920 Census, Cuyahoga County, Cleveland, OH, age 8, with her father, John, age 49, foundry watchman, with her mother, Anna, 49, her brothers Frank, 18, sewing machine clerk, Joseph, 16, department store stockboy, and sisters, Virginia (Reggie), 11, and Bertha, 9. All immigrated 1913. Lived at 12906 Union Avenue. Also living there was her widowed sister, Toney (Antonie) Yaminik, 29 (27), and Toney's son Charley Hantl, 4, as well as another sister Anna Wojnarowski, 23 (21), immigrated 1908, her husband Tom, 34, Polish, machinist, immigrated 1892, and their daughter Anna, 9 months.

Listed in the 1930 Census, 12906 Union Ave, Cleveland, OH, 18, single, not employed, living with her father, John, age 68, not employed, and her mother, Anna, 58. Also living with her parents were her sister Regina, 21, and her husband William Pelsnik, 25, born in Ohio, and an assembler of stoves. All (except William) immigrated in 1913 and had not naturalized.

Filed her Declartion of Intention for naturalization on Oct 1, 1935.

Naturalized on Feb 11, 1938, in Cleveland, OH, living at 12906 Union Ave, Cleveland, OH.

Listed in the 1940 Census, 12906 Union Ave, Cleveland, OH, 28, working as an assembler for a valve manufacturing company, naturalized, and living with her mother, Anna, age 69, widowed, alien. Interestingly, Mildred was listed as divorced. Also living there, renting, was Mildred's older sister Barbara, 33, her husband Frank J. Soucek, 35, and their son Frank Jr., 11. Barbara worked as a folder and packer in a print shop, and Frank worked as a truck driver for R & H Builder Supply. Frank and Frank Jr were born in Ohio, and the rest were born in Czechoslovakia.

Mildred never married. She did factory work in the printing industry. She died in Cleveland, Ohio on May 23, 1974, at the age of 62. She was buried with her parents at Calvary Cemetery, Section 54, Lot 1282, Grave 1, Cleveland, OH, although the marker only names her parents.
