David L. Whitmore Sr., 58, Defiance, died at 6:42 a.m. Tuesday in Defiance Regional Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 11, 1946, in Napoleon, the son of George and Virginia (Riebesehl) Gibler. In 1982, he married Shirley Kiessling, who survives.
He was self-employed and a member of VFW Post 8847, New Bavaria.
Also surviving are a son, David Jr., Defiance; a daughter, Virginia, Defiance; two brothers, Harold Wagner of Napoleon and George Gibler, Alvordton; two sisters, Linda Johnson of Defiance and Doris Drummer, Wauseon; and four grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home with Dr. John McFarland officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation is after 10 a.m. Friday.
