FROSTBURG — John Edward Garlitz, 60, of 221 Armstrong Avenue, died yesterday at the VA Center, Martinsburg, where he had been a patient since December 17. He had been in ill health the past year. Born at Boynton, Pa., he was a son of the late Charles and Annabelle (Custer) Garlitz. His wife, Sarah'(Truly) Garlitz, preceded him in death. Mr. Garlitz was a veteran of World War II and was employed at Don's Auto Repair Shop. Surviving are a son, John E. Garlitz Jr., of here; a stepson, Donald Smith, Cleveland, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. Sarah E. McKenzie, Grantsville, and Mrs. Nora Engle, Avilton; a brother, Charles Garlitz, Finzel, and three grandchildren. The body is at the Durst Funeral Home where friends will be received today from 7 to 9 p.m. and tomorrow from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
