Christie Jo Bowcutt, 54, of Idaho Falls, passed away Monday, September 24, 2012, at Good Samaritan Society, Idaho Falls Village. She was under the care of Encompass Hospice.

Christie was born October 2, 1957, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, the daughter of Thomas Keith Bowcutt and Eileen Maria Elg Bowcutt. She grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls, graduating from Idaho Falls High School in 1975. She graduated from Idaho State University in 1993 with a bachelor's degree in corporate training. She was a lifelong resident of Idaho Falls and Pocatello.

Christie worked as a consultant and taught Hazardous Materials Training at the INL.

Christie traveled to Peru and studied to become a Shaman. She enjoyed rafting, biking, camping, mountain climbing, weaving, skiing, and reading. Christie loved the outdoors. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Christie considered her pets: Jake, Jessie, Ash and Andy, her children.

Survivors include her mother, Eileen (Kent) Miller, of Chubbuck, ID; brother, Mike (Connie) Bowcutt, of Idaho Falls; sistes: Toni (Art) Gimpel, of Idaho Falls, and Carol (Eric) English, of Idaho Falls; seven nieces and nephews; and 14 great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Keith Bowcutt; and her grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. John Elg and Tom and Millie Bowcutt.

Graveside Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 6, 2012, at Rose Hill Cemetery in Idaho Falls.

In lieu of flowers, Christie's wishes were to have memorial donations be made to the Bonneville Humane Society, 444 North Eastern Avenue, P.O. Box 2763, Idaho Falls, ID 83403, or online at www.bonnevillehumane.org.
