Died Monday, September 24, 2012
Ethel Marie Barker Frye, 86, formerly of Axton, died Monday, Sept. 24, 2012, at Blue Ridge Rehab Center in Martinsville.
She was born Dec. 2, 1925, in Henry County to Minnie Barker and Posie Lester Barker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Moir Thomas Frye; four sisters, Edna Barker Hairfield, Blanche Barker Stultz, Fleet Barker Lovell and Magdalene Barker Gardner; three brothers, James H. Barker, Andrew "Bill" Barker and Calvin Eugene Barker; and a great-granddaughter.
She retired from Stanley Furniture Co.
Surviving are three daughters, Mary Ann Frye Willard, Joyce Frye Reynolds and Nancy Frye Willard, all of Axton; a son, Lester "L.T." Thomas Frye of Axton; a sister, Eloise Barker of Axton; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Norris Funeral Services in Martinsville with the Revs. Gary Robertson and David Hinsen officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Burial Park in Martinsville.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and other times at the home of her daughter, Nancy Frye Willard, 1381 Plantation Drive, Axton.
