Patricia "Pat" Chadwick Lamar, resident of Oxford, Mississippi, wife of Dr. Wayne T. Lamar and sister-in-law of Betty Peebles of Somerville died Monday evening, September 24, 2012 at the Baptist Hospital in Oxford, Mississippi.

Services for Mrs. Lamar will be at 3 Friday afternoon at the Oxford University United Methodist Church in Oxford, Mississippi.

Interment will be in the Oxford Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Lamar was born April 3, 1941 in Jackson, Mississippi. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Vernon Davis Chadwick and Glenn Eva Hines Chadwick.

She received her education in the Jackson, Mississippi School System and received her Bachelors Degree in Education from the University of Mississippi.

Mrs. Lamar was married June 9, 1962 to Dr. Wayne Terry Lamar, a retired doctor, who survives.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Lamar is survived by her daughter, Leslie Lamar Mallory of Memphis; two sons, William Chadwick Lamar of Oxford, MS, Lucius Mallory Lamar of Santa Barbara, CA; two sisters, Annie Chadwick Hardin of New York City, NY, Dorothy Chadwick of Madison, MS; her brother, Dr. Vernon Chadwick of Oxford, MS; and seven grandchildren, Robert Ellis Mallory, Jr., Lucius Lamar Mallory, William Thomas Lamar Mallory, Mary Etta Mallory Bridges Lamar, William Chadwick Lamar, Jr., Thomas Giles Lamar and Elizabeth Merrill Lamar.
