ALAMO -- Ernest Lee Box, 77, died March 16 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Savannah.
The Lake City, Fla. native had lived in Alamo 35 years. He retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation and was a member of First Baptist Church of Alamo.
SURVIVORS: his wife, Montez Box of Alamo; four daughters, Frances Lowery of Savannah, Sue Barfield of Thomaston, Sandra Brown of Alamo, and Kathay Walters of Kennesaw; a sister, Hattie Lee Box of Lake City, Fla.; three brothers, James Henry Box of Baltimore, Franklin Box of Crystal Springs, Fla. and Charles Box of Raleigh, N.C.; three sons-in-law; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
FUNERAL: 3 p.m. today at Ronnie L. Stewart Family Funeral Service, Glenwood Chapel. Burial will be in Alamo City Cemetery.
