US Congressman: Born Terrell Guinn Williams. At the age of five, he moved with his family from Mississippi to Texas. After graduating in 1890 from Transylvania College in Kentucky he engaged in banking, livestock and agricultural pursuits. He served in the Texas State Senate from 1920 until 1922 when he was elected to fill the US Congressional seat vacated by Lucian Parrish. Williams served five full terms, from May 22, 1922 through March 3, 1933 and was the chairman of the Committee on Territories during the seventy-second Congress. In 1925, he became the Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Texas Ancient, Free and Accepted Masons. In 1933 he became the manager of the Regional Agricultural Credit Corporation of San Angelo.
