Helen Irene Bryant, age 93, passed away at 9:30 a.m. Friday, September 17, 2012, at the James River Care and Rehabilitation Center in Springfield, Missouri. She was born February 14, 1919, in Lawrence County, Missouri the daughter of Harry and Edna (Holman) Nivens. Helen was a 1936 graduate of Miller High School.
On June 5, 1938 she married Claude Crandall "C.C." Bryant in Lawrence County. He preceded her in death on December 8, 2004, celebrating 67 wedding anniversaries together.
Helen spent several years working at the Greenfield Citizens Home Bank and Peoples Bank of Miller. She has been a devoted member of the Greenfield United Methodist Church, where she served as the church treasurer for many years and president of the Methodist Women's group many times.
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughter, Jeanie Dereberry of Springfield, Missouri; grandchildren, Joni (Bryant) Sellers of Midland, Texas, Wade Bryant of Corpus Christi, Texas, Dennis Dodd and brother James Dereberry of Springfield, Missouri; step-grandchildren, Gary Kellogg and Dana Ozbun; Great-Grandchildren, Megan Denton of Corpus Christi, Texas, Krystyn Allison of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Carissa Dodd of Springfield, Missouri, Kristina Dodd of Branson, Missouri, and Jake Condra of Springfield, Missouri; step-great-grandchildren, Isaiah Kellogg of Washington, Missouri, Jacob Kellogg of Michigan, Joseph Kellogg of Kingsport, Tennessee, David Kellogg of Portland, Oegon, Tristen and Kiersten Akerman; Great-great grandchildren, are Bayleigh Sellers of Midland, Texas, Kylye & Ayden Allison of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Her parents, son, John Crandall Bryant, two sisters, Margaret Tartar and Lucille Nivens also preceded her in death.
Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Saturday in the funeral home chapel.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 22, 2012, at the Morris-Leiman-Mosher Funeral Home in Miller, Missouri.
Burial will follow at the Stahl Cemetery.
