Two Men Perish In Plane Crash

TILDEN, Neb., Apr. 7. (UP) -

When their plane plunged 500 feet to the earth before a holiday crowd of 3,000 persons here late yesterday two men were instantly killed and the pilot received injuries which caused his death.

The crowd, attending the annual "Tree Day" celebration at the Rowell Lake State Game and Fish Preserve, had been addressed by Gov. Arthur Weaver, Nebraska's "flying governor," shortly before the crash.

The dead were Leon Baldwin, 24, and Leonard Alexander, 22, killed instantly, co-owners of the plane with Ken Kirk, 22 pilot, who died in a hospital shortly afterwards.

Cause of the accident was not known.
