Winifred Gill’s last will and testament was signed and dated June 17, 1862 at her place near Sandy Point in the McFarland League and was filed for record on February 27, 1865. According to her grandson's probate file, she died "on or around December 15, 1878." Mrs. Gill’s will gives several clues to her identity. She referred to her brother, David Burney (buried in the Cash plot at Sandy Point) and her great-grandsons, Clinton M. Terry and Reel Bonner Terry, the children of Winifred Manadue Terry. From this information, it is clear that a daughter of Winifred Gill married Warren Henry Manadue of Rapides Parish, Louisiana. An old cemetery record in Rapides Parish answered this question about Winifred Gill’s daughter and provided the name of her first husband. Mary Elizabeth Manadue, born August 13, 1820, died August 15, 1840 was buried in the Henderson Graveyard, north of Boyce, Louisiana. Her tombstone described her as the consort of Warren H. Manadue and the daughter of Henry and “Winniford” F. Bonner. An online listing of the cemetery from a 1990s survey does not list this grave and mentions several unreadable concrete tombstones.
