L. Paul Bernardini - Tarentum
L. Paul Bernardini, 87, of Tarentum, died Wednesday, December 17, 2008 in Alle-Kiski Medical Center, Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights.
He was born October 14, 1921 in Glassmere, a son of the late Dominic and Aida (Petri) Bernardini. He lived most of his life in Tarentum.
He was a general turn foreman for Allegheny Ludlum Steel Corp. in Brackenridge for 43 years until his retirement in 1983.
He graduated from Tarentum High School in 1940 and was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II.
He was a member of Holy Martyrs Church in Tarentum and a charter member of the Tarentum VFW.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cards, camping at Kennerdale and VFW bingos.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty F. (Rowe) Bernardini, on October 29, 1997; and a son, Jay B. Bernardini, on Dec. 12, 2007.
He is survived by four daughters, Paula L. (Larry J.) Malobicky, of Brackenridge, Bonnie G (Philip D.) Ekas, of Saxonburg, Sue Ellen (Dennis) Johns, of Natrona Heights, and Laura F. Bouchat, of Tarentum; a son, Guy Bernardini, of Natrona Heights; grandchildren, Melissa, Jill, Neil, Lance, Paul, John, Elizabeth, Jarrod and Nick; numerous great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Suzanne Bernardini, of Conneaut, Ohio.
