1924 - 2012

Max Vernon Kilgore, 87, of Huntington, passed away Sunday September 23, 2012, at his residence.

He was born November 13, 1924, in Wayne County, WV., a son of the late Mack and Emma Bloss Kilgore.

He was a retired employee of Houdaille Industries and was a US Navy Veteran having served during WWII. Max was a charter member of Beulah Freewill Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death
by a son, Larry Dale Kilgore, granddaughter, Nancy McCoy, brothers Irvin, George and Ernest Kilgore, and sisters Glenna Lorman and Bessie Dickson-Powers.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years Nancy Booth Kilgore, two sons, Rick Kilgore and Mark Kilgore both of Huntington, three daughters and two sons-in-law, Sandy and Larry McCloud of Huntington, Linda Bannister of Barboursville, and Karen and Roger Perdue of Huntington, twelve grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, three brothers and two sisters- in-law, Paul Kilgore of California, Sam and Maxine Kilgore and Carl and Betty Kilgore all of Huntington, and several nieces and nephews, whom he loved very much. We'd also like to thank granddaughter Ashley Turner for assisting day and night medically, physically and lovingly in the care of my husband and our dad.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Reger Funeral Chapel, by Paul Michael Booth, John Harris, Shirley Ball and Jim Parsons. Burial will follow in Artrip Kilgore Cemetery, Wayne County, WV.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
