Sara, daughter of David Van Duyn and Ida Peter Montfort, married David Cossart (name changed later to Cossat, Cossart, Cozart) in 1764 in Somerset County New Jersey.

According to the books THE FAMILY COSSART, pg 16, by Merril D. Cassatt; and THE COSSART CHRONICLES by Robert E. Wheatley; David was a member of the Pennsylvania legislature for a number of years, many of his descendants became promiinent in variois waks of life. He served as a Private in Company A, 2nd Bn, York Co Militia in 1778 ad is shown on the muster rolls as David Cosart. In 1768 he acquired 114 acres next to his father's farm, "Cossart's Dream." David and Sarah called their place "Barren Hill". David died age 81 on 29 Dec 1823 and is buried in the Jersey Colonist Graveyard, or the Low Dutch Cemetery about 1 1/2 miles east of Hunterstown, PA. Sarah had preceded him n death. She died 27 Apr 1800 at age fifty-nine.
