FORT WAYNE - Mildred J. Reinoehl, 95, formerly of Auburn and Waterloo, Ind., and Harlingen, Texas, died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, in Heritage Park Health and Rehabilitation Center in Fort Wayne. She was born June 23, 1917, in Waterloo to Vern and Josephine (Worthington) Wise. Her stepmother was Gertrude (Willhelm) Wise. They have all passed away.

She worked at G.C. Lepley Sales in Ashley for 14 years as a bookkeeper. She was a member of Cedar Lake Church of Christ and volunteered at DeKalb Memorial Hospital in Auburn. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and quilting. She made hundreds of crocheted children's caps that she donated to RSVP of Auburn and the Red Cross.

Mildred married Gene Reinoehl on March 4, 1939, in Waterloo, and he died in April of 2005.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Vince Geistwhite of Fort Wayne; four grandchildren, Lori Fitts, Brad Geistwhite, James Geistwhite and Robert Geistwhite; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a half-sister, Louise Badman.

A funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012, at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center St., Auburn. Burial will be in Fairfield Cemetery, Corunna. Calling is two hours prior to the service, from 1-3 p.m., at the funeral home. Preferred memorials can be directed to RSVP of Auburn or Woodburn Children's Home.
