A memorial service to honor Kenneth James Broussard, 59, of Welsh will be held on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at 4 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Welsh. Ken passed away on Friday, September 21, 2012. Father Whitney Miller will officiate.
"Kenny B," as he was known by many, was born and raised in Jennings, and was a 1971 graduate of Goretti High School. He always had a love of airplanes and flying and he was a crop-duster for Riceland Aviation in Jennings for many years. He never met a stranger, and always had a smile on his face. His love for his children was always evident to them and everyone around them. He also had a tremendous love for his grandsons, who referred to him as "Daddy Ken."
He is survived by his three children, Eric Broussard and his wife, Jessica; Leslie King and her husband, Braden; and Weston Broussard. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Landen Broussard, Owen Broussard, Collyn King, and Evan King. He was awaiting the arrival of his first granddaughter, Ava King, over the next few weeks. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins whom he loved very much.
Ken was preceded in death by his mother, Dot Broussard, his father, Harvey Broussard, and his sister Marlene Broussard. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be sent to First United Methodist Church, 306 N. Adams Street in Welsh.
