Chicago Pioneer Called Beyond
Early-Day Business Man of Illinois to be Buried on Monday

Funeral services over the remains of the late John W. Tomblin, who died day before yesterday, will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the family residence at No. 720 West Twenty-eighth street. Rev. Hugh K. Walker of Long Beach will officiate, assisted by Rev. W. H. Cornet of Santa Monica. Interment will be made at Rosedale Cemetery.

Mr. Tomblin was born near Plano, Illinois, in 1835. He received his education in Illinois and at an early age became a commission merchange in Chicago. With the growth of that city he expanded his business and in tame became one of the leading merchants. He was a member of the Chicago Board of Trade for several years. He left Illinois some thiry years ago, subsequently engaging in banking in Nebraska.

He leaves a widow, Mrs. Marie Tomblin. A sister, Mrs. W. L. Tubbs, lives in Santa Ana. Other relatives are Mrs. Minnie H. Bener of No. 1248 West Twenty-ninth street, who is a niece of his first wife, and Mrs. M. S. Merril of Boulder, Colorado, a younger sister.
