Louis Arrowood

Louis Preston Arrowood, 77, of Bryant died Sunday at Langlade Memorial Hospital.

Born Sept. 1, 1912 in Canoe, Ky., he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Arrowood. His wife, the former Elizabeth Nickel, preceded him in death.

Mr. Arrowood moved to Bryant with his family when he was five years old and later worked as a foreman and supervisor for National Gypsum Company in Waukegan, Ill.

Following his retirement in 1972, he returned to Bryant, spending his winters in Zephyrhills, Fla.

Mr. Arrowood served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a member of Antigo United Methodist Church. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Ton (Bernice) Cole of Sheboygan, Mrs. Howard (Mildred) Raunhut of Deerbrook and Mrs. Walter (Peggy) Ulbricht of Saratoga Springs, N.Y.; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Joseph (Evelyn) Carlin of Waukegan; two sons, James of Lily and Thomas of Spruce Pines, N.C.; two sisters,Mrs. William (Bithy) Canter and Mrs. George (Mini) Spencer, both of Bryant; 33 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.

A daughter, a stepson, two sisters and four brothers preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Antigo United Methodist Church. Rev. Bernadette Bruner will officiate. Burial will be in Bent Cemetery, Bryant.

Friends may call Wednesday from 3:30 to 8 p.m. at the McCandles-Zobel and Brandley Funeral Home and Thursday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services.
