Mary "Naomi" Robertson McAlister
As with most folks, was known by her middle name, Naomi, and is listed as such on her grave marker.

Born at Mulberry, Franklin County, Arkansas. She was the Daughter of Lemuel D. "Dee" and Mary Alice "Hunt" Robertson. She was the wife of George Walker McAlister Sr. whom she married October 23, 1902. With G.W. McAlister she had issue 12 children. Child number 4 "Lloyd" died at 3 years 6 months 17 days (D. October 15 1911) due to "Locked Bowels" as it was known then. Today we would probably say that he died of dehydration. Lloyd was the first to be buried in the G.W. McAlister Sr. family plot. The Family land and house where Naomi was raised still exists and continues to be occupied by the Robertson family, near Hector bordering Dare Creek and not far from the McAlister farm where she gave birth to, (Except for Mardie who was born in Faulkner County) and raised her children.

Died after an extended illness December 27, 1942. Was cared for until her death by her children, especially her 11th child, then 20 year old George Walker McAlister Jr. on the McAlister family farm, between Appleton and Hector, north of Clear Creek which runs approximately 300 yards to the south of the old farm house location. This is now all private property and posted. No access!

Was buried January 2 1943. Burial delayed until sons in the military could be granted emergency leave and travel home for funeral.

Photos show (1) Naomi holding her first born Fred, with her Mother Mary Alice "Hunt" Robertson standing beside her and (2) Naomi a few years before her death.

(Information from the unpublished family history of M.W.H. and family stories as told to me by my Aunt Mardie and Uncle Floyd) Naomi was this Biographers Grandmother.
