Well Known Store To Be Closed Out
To Dispose of Stock in W. H. Ballentine Hardware Store -Sale Starts May 19- One of Hillsboro's oldest and best known business establishments will be closed out next week when the W. H. Ballentine Hardware Store begins a sale in which it is planned to dispose of all stock.
The sale will start on Thursday, May 19.
The store is located in one of Hillsboro's oldest buildings on the corner of South High and West Walnut Streets.
It is considerably over 100 years old and was once used as a stop over place for stage coaches. The original structure was of logs.
W. H. Ballentine founded the store about 45 years ago which has always been in the same location.
George Ballentine is the present proprietor.
The establishment has a multitude of customers in this section of the country, having maintained supplies for farm, shop and home.
The close-out sale will continue for a limited time until all or most of the stock is disposed of.
Meanwhile the store will be closed for ten days while articles are marked to make shopping easier for the public.
