Born in Schierstein, Wiesbaden, Germany on May 19, 1854 to George Wilhelm Frederich August Wallrabenstein of Schierstein and Elisabetha Magaretha Frederiche Rossell of Dotzheim. (Evangelical Church Birth,Christianing records (1559-1892)LDS Library). He immigrated to U.S. on March 3,1883.(Germans to America Vol. 45. Nov.1882-Apr 1883) He, his wife Johannetta Gottlieb and their daughter Sophia lived in Louisville, Ky.(Carson's City Directory) He was a cigar maker, then a saloon keeper. They had a son, Frederick William in 1885. Johannetta died in 1889 and he placed his two chidren in an orphanage. He married Ernestine Present in that same year and they moved to Trenton, ILL. where he opened a Cigar factory. Ernestine died in 1898 and was buried in Louisville,Ky. William continued living in Trenton through 1900 then moved to Philadelphia, PA. He married a third time to Caroline Haage in 1908 and Caroline gave birth to her only child, Helen Elsie Wallrabenstein in 1909. William died on Sept.14,1942. Helen never knew her half sister and brother as they were never taken from the orphanage by William. He was a patient in the State Hospital county of Montgomery, Norristown, PA. when he died from Lobar Pneumonia. He is buried, together with Caroline, Helen, and a Elizabeth Mackay, in Hillside Cemetery, Roslyn, PA.
