Alfred Roy Travis, 62, of 1315 Poplar, Springfield, was dead on arrival at Burge-Protestant Hospital at 1 p.m. Friday following an apparent heart attack.

A retired sheet metal worker, Mr. Travis has lived here 10 years, going to Springfield from Bruner. He was a member of Sparta Assembly of God Church.

Surviving are his wife, Eunice; three daughters, Mrs. Wayne Thompson, Sparta, Mrs. Jerry Coday, Springfield and Mrs. Don Jenkins, 1537 North Waverly; his mother, Mrs. Martha Whitaker, Russell, Kan.; three sisters, Mrs. Cecil Marr, Bruner, Mrs. Ethel Cochran, Russell, Kan. and Mrs. Carl Shaffer, Bunker Hill, Kan. and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Monday in the Ralph Thieme Chapel with burial in Sparta Cemetery. The Revs. Albert D. Pyle and John W. Warren officiated.
