Leah died peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, September 21, 2012 at age 94.

She was born in Plain City, Utah on June 29, 1918, the daughter of William England and Ismilda Thueson Dorcues.

Leah was married to Creed East September 14, 1935, later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Creed and her new-born son Randy.

She is survived by her children: Lois Richins (husband Robert deceased) and Dennis East (Karen Nielsen) of Colorado.

Leah had a large family of seven grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She took pride in keeping up with all her family and never missed sending cards and gifts on birthdays.

Leah was a beloved, active member of the LDS Lake View Ward in Roy, Utah, where she lived for 30 years.

She was famous for her beautiful garden and her love for roses Neighbors were always in awe of her yard and home. She worked in her garden until just the last few days of her life. She was extremely independent, living alone for the past 25 years.

She will be missed by family and friends but never forgotten.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Lake View Ward Chapel, 4900 South 2000 West, Roy, Utah. Friends may visit with family at the church from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to services.

Interment, Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd, Ogden, UT.

Services entrusted to Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Road.
