Homer W. Raney, 87 of Harrisburg passed away peacefully Thursday, September 20, 2012 at Community General Hospital. He was a retired Pressman for J. Horace McFarland. He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church Harrisburg and a former volunteer firefighter for the City of Harrisburg.


Homer was a Jack of all trades who could fix anything, loved hunting and fishing, and most of all loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his loving wife Gloria A. Raney of Harrisburg, three daughters Judith A. Bailets, Brenda L. Noell, and Wendy S. Fonner and husband Steven all of Harrisburg, 7 grandchildren Kerry and Rick Zeiders, Cory Noell, Tammy Maloney, Tracy Murphy, and Shane and Erin Fonner, and 11 great-grandchildren.


Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, September 26, 2012, at Calvary U.M. Church 4700 Locust Lane Harrisburg, PA 17109. A viewing will be held from 10 AM until the time of services. Burial will be at Rolling Green Memorial Gardens Camp Hill, PA. Instead of flowers memorial contributions in honor of Homer may be made to his Church.
