JAMES R JENNINGS
PRESCOTT — Services for James R Jennings, 84, who died March 28, 1978, at a Phoenix nursing home, will be at 11 am Saturday at the Ruffner Funeral Home.
Mr Jennings was born in Taylor, Arizona Territory, and was a member of a well-known pioneer family. He served in the Army during World War I and was later employed with US Public Health Service. From 1945 to 1972 he was involved in real estate and investments in Phoenix.
Mr Jennings moved to Prescott in 1972 where he published four books, one of them the first definitive work on early Arizona freighting.
Survivors include his wife, Esther; a daughter, Mrs Jean Bergman; a brother Renz L Jennings; and one grandchild.
