Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Riverview Cemetery in Brawley for E.J. Wade, 80, of Brawley, who died Jan. 26 in his home.

Pastor Bill Brewer of Faith Assembly of God of Imperial will officiate.

Mr. Wade was born Aug. 21, 1924, in Sperry, Okla., and moved with his family to the Imperial Valley in 1938.

He attended schools in Brawley, where he graduated from Brawley Union High School before joining the U.S. Navy in 1943.

Mr. Wade served during World War II in the South Pacific and the Philippines, serving from 1943 to 1946.

He married Myra Alexander on Oct. 1, 1943.

Mr. Wade worked as a truck driver for nearly 40 years with various trucking companies, including Massey & Granite Construction Co., from which he retired in 1990.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and exploring the desert in his Jeep, especially with his grandkids, family said.

Mr. Wade was preceded in death by his brother, Jack Wade.

Survivors include his wife, Myra Wade of Brawley; daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and David Miller of Brawley and Paula and Robert Kuhn of Durango, Colo.; granddaughter and spouse, Traci and Chris Bausitian of San Diego; grandchildren, Rodney Miller of New Haven, Conn., Kristi Kuhn of Denver, Michael Kuhn of Durango and Brian Kuhn of Stauton, Va.; sisters, Pauline Smith of Brawley and Eveline Parmer of Marysville; and great-grandson, Kyle Bausitian of San Diego.
