Lyman was the son of LIEUT. ISAAC & SYBIL (SPERRY) DICKERMAN. He left Mt. Carmel with his brothers, Isaac & Amasa, to settle in Mt. Holly, Vermont. His brother, Simeon, was already there. Lyman married ABIGAIL BUTTON in 1795 in Mt. Holly, VT. Her two sisters, Hannah & Sarah, married his two brothers, Amasa & Isaac Dickerman.
