BIO
George was born in the Shadrack Hills area named New Salem, Tennessee. Married about 1860 in Jackson Co., Tennesse, George took his wife and moved to Crittenden Co., Kentucky. A lot of George's brothers and sisters moved also, most likely to keep from becoming part of the new confederates. In the year 1873, George moved his family back to Jackson Co., Tennessee. George worked as a blacksmith and was a minister of the gospels. In 1880, his wife pasted away during child birth. George remarried shortly after, and within a year, moved to Macon Co., Tennessee. After his 2nd wife pasted away between 1910 and 1920, George married a 3rd time to a Paralee Law. This union did not work out, and George moved down to Pottsboro, Grayson Co., Texas. He moved in with his son Columbus Pickney Jones, staying until his passing in 1928.
