She accepted Christ at an early age in life at Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church.
Red was raised in Bastrop, Texas. She attended school in Bastrop School District and worked in Beauty Consulting. She loved being creative (decorating).
She was preceded in death by her twin sister Wanda Ann Slaughter.
Red leaves to cherish her memories her mother Lynda Kay Slaughter; father John Earl Peoples of Austin, Texas; two sons, Stanley Lee McKenzie and Malcolm McKenzie of LaGrange, Texas; sisters Ella Lee Williams (Ron) of Bastrop, Texas; Rachelle Ray Slaughter of Smithville, Texas; brother Donnie Lynn Jaslyn, and a half-brother John Jr.; uncle Laverne (PeeWee) Slaughter of Bastrop, Texas; aunt Arlena Charles (Tithi) Slaughter of Austin, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
