There is a Casper D. Tryon, who was born in 1795 in N.Y., on the 1870 census in Cayuga Co., N.Y. with his wife Mariah who looks to likely be Emily's parent's unless these were her grandparent's? It is possible it could go either way. I see no proof as yet one way or the other. More digging required to know for sure. If Emily's mother died young and Casper remarried this Mariah would just be a step parent or step grandparent. Nobody on Ancestry.com seems to know when or where Casper died.
There is a Tryon Creek and a Tryon Creek State Park in S.W. Portland. I have to wonder if whoever this creek and park were named after are connected to Emily's family somewhere along the line.

The death certificate supports the conclusion that Casper D. Tryon and Maria (Mariah) Dibble Tryon are Emily's parents. This is further supported by the New York State 1865 Census that places Emily and John Ennes and their children in Mentz (Port Byron), Cayuga County, NY, USA. In the 1855 NY Census Casper and Maria Tryon along with 14 year old Emily also lived in Mentz. Casper died in 1885 in Auburn, Cayuga County, NY, USA, which is very near Mentz. At this time there is no record of Maria's death.
Emily has one brother, Aaron, Find A Grave #31817216. She had one sister, Maria Tryon Adams.
